In Memory of James A. Ferris 04-11-46 ~ 11-07-2002:Dad, you are my inspiration, I hope to live my life with the love and desire you showed every day. You never had a complaint in the world and took everything that could be bad and turned it into something great. I will miss you more than anyone will ever know, and I will love you always. You were a great father, and a wonderful teacher, I wish you could have stayed longer, there is so much knowledge I could still have gained from you. There will be and empty void in my heart at every car show, race and sunny afternoon BBQ I go to from now on. I will truly miss you, you were not only my father you were and always will be my best friend. I Love You Dad. For those of you who don't know me or my father, on November 7, 2002 he lost his courageous 3 year fight with cancer. To his final day he was the kindest loving man I or anyone else who had the pleasure of meeting him will ever know. I can't imagine the pain he had to be in, yet not once did I ever hear one complaint out of him or one word on how he was dealt a lousy hand. He even thanked the last hospice nurse to see him that day, after she moved him despite his plea to just let him lay because he was in too much pain. This is the kind of role model I grew up with and the man who no one could ever fill his shoes. I hope someday to follow in his footsteps and have some little ones to pass on his values to, my only regret is that my father will never get to know his grandchildren, and have the chance to be the wonderful grandfather to them that I know he would have been.
